Welcome to Unifor Local 501A
The Suncor Edmonton Refinery has been owned by many different Petrochemical Companies over the years but has always been operated and maintained by members of Local 501A. Prior to 2013 the Refinery here in Edmonton was represented by the Communications, Energy and Paper workers Union (CEP). In 2013 the merger of Canadian Auto Workers (CAW) and the Communications, Energy and Paper workers Union of Canada (CEP) saw the formation of Unifor, Canada’s largest private-sector Union, who now is the governing body of Local 501A.
